Is the battery on the chest strap transmitter replaceable, or does a new strap have to be purchased when the battery dies?

The chest strap transmitter does have a user replaceable battery, using a CR2430 battery. It has a simple twist off battery cover.

I do a lot of spinning classes on a static cycle, Can this product be used on a static cycle? If not can you recommend a product that is suitable?
