Depends on what you mean by normal sized.

I have 44 in normal shoes and bought a pair of 46. They are perfect. I have place for a pair of better insoles and a pair of thicker socks and still leaves room for some air around the toes.

the sizes are a tiny bit small when new but give/stretch over time, so don't go up a size.

I got one size over my Specialized BG and there is plenty of room for thicker socks. They are a bit roomy with thin socks and very warm in the high twenties. Get the same size if you plan on thin socks and warmer temps.

I order mine in the same sized as my Specialized shoes.. but the a too small if I have to ware a big sock..

So go a size up

I wear 44 regular shoes, 45 shimano MTB shoes and 45 with these.

Unless you're riding in Siberia, you won't need to worry about layering socks too much: they're incredibly warm.

DiverDave ... I think they have the extra size 'built in' to the sizing. I wear Shimano 45's in the summer and tried two sizes of the Northwave's ... the 45's were correct. There is enough space for socks and they're so warm you won't need huge thick ones.

Arctic have a fleece lining to keep you warmer
