Alfine 8 - 11 compatibility?
The Cube Hooper I ride to work has the older 8-speed Alfine hub, would the new 11-speed hub be a direct replacement (ignoring the need to change the shifter)?

I've swapped my 8 speed Alfine for the 11 speed on my Cannondale Bad Boy 8 and it was a straight swap.
Even the rear sprocket fitted.

Yes it basically a straight swap, you will need the hub to build onto a wheel, fitting kit, sprocket and shifter.

Question
Can you provide key hub dimensions for caculating spoke length?
I would like to build a wheel but can't find any flange height / width / offset dimensions to do the calculations.
I believe the Chain line is 41.8mm.
The Shimano website has a doc that has some detail:
Shimano Alfine SI-37R0A-001-ENG_v1.pdf.. but not what I am after.

Unfortunately we do not have these measurements and Shimano's website does not list them either. You could contact Shimano directly or contact a wheel builder to see if they have the measurements you require for spoke length.

Just don't have to fit the disc brake kit, you can use your rim brakes.

Each option has the amount of spoke holes listed. This hub is available in 32h and 36h options.

Yes there is a Alfine disc brake available and adpater kits to use with Alfine hubs.

Unfortunately we do not stock the full fitting kits for this hub. You need the 11 speed specific kit to fit this hub.

Is there any way this hub can be narrowed to 130mm, for instance by removal of the disk brake fittings?

No you can't reduce this hub to 130mm. You can sometimes stretch the dropout out a little, although we can't recommend you do so some frames have more then enough give to allow easy fitting.

Is it going to be available with a Twist Grip Changer?
I ride a Recumbent Trike I would like to use the hub with, so my handlebar grips point upwards, twist grip is the best gear changer for that configuration.
