Yes, it comes with a bridging connection headphone jack (double ended), so your ipod outputs to the device, which in turn outputs to headphones.
Hope this helps

Yes. I use this with Ipod nano 4th gen and Ipod touch 32gb. The connection is a 2.5 plug and is plugged into any headphone connection on any mp3 player.

The MiCoach can be used with any MP3 player and is extremely easy with the iPod. Just plug it in & listen to music while you run then the MiCoach will speak over the music when giving feedback on your workout or how long you have remaining etc. Easy!

Sure but I wouldn't swim with it.

I use mine to gather data on "Free Workout" while I'm doing weight training.

The heart rate monitor and pedometer will work for cycling too, but I'm not sure it any of it bits are waterproof enough to swim with.

answer 5
Hi Palle,

Micoach is designed as an aid to running and uses a stride sensor attached to your trainer laces to measure the distance you cover. It combines this data with that from a heart rate monitor (HRM) to coach you to fitness.

The stride sensor does not work when cycling (I've tried) but you can still use the HRM. You may be better off with a system that uses GPS and HRM for cycling

DO NOT wear it for swimming, it is not waterproof ;o)

Cheers, Phil

I doubt it mate, i don't think the pacer or hear rate monitor is water-proof. ALso, i think you would find it quite difficult to swim with ear-phones if you want to hear your updates on heart rate etc.

answer 7
It's great for training running. don't recKon it would be waterproof for swimming and it won't pick up speed/cadence etc on the bike. Probably look at Polar for Tri.

Question
What does the coach say?
The little Adidas MiCoach video is all very nice, but does the coach just refer to the different coloured zones or does he/she actually tell you your distance, heart rate, pace and so on?

Or should I be considering a "proper" wrist watch style heart rate monitor?

I really like the micoach gadget, although i have no experience of the wrist watch style monitors. The feedback of the coach tells you as much or as little as you want - distance, heart rate (expressed as 'zone') etc etc

The website is really good too. If you want to get a feel for how the service works and you have a smartphone, download the free micoach app. Obviously you won't get your heart rate stuff, but you'll get a feel if its right for you.
