Front light takes 4 AA; rear light takes 2 AAA - sets of both batteries are supplied with the lights.

I'm pretty sure CatEye offer new brackets in order to share the light among different bikes.

Bright enough to cycle on an unlit road and see where your going. Not bright enough for proper off-road use but you could give night riding a try to see if you fancied it. I started with alot worse!
