Question
What is the practical difference between a compact and a triple?

Triple is slightly heavier then compact (weight difference of one ring), but it enables easier pedaling on steep ground. If you are new to road bikes and plan to ride some hilly terrain I would recommend triple.

answer 2
a triple chainset has three chainrings on the chainset, whereas a compact has two chainrings, typically being 34-50 or 36-50 ring combinations.

answer 3
A compact chainset uses a smaller range of gears at the lower end so you get the same top speed with the 50t chainring but will find it harder on steep hills without the 30t lower chainring. Triple chainsets are generally used for hilly areas where you need a greater range of gears to cope.

We would recommend the 58cm XL size. We do not know your inside leg measurement so this may not be 100% accurate. If you wish to send your inside leg and height measurements to sales@wiggle.co.uk we can size up the bike for you.

Question
New Pedals
Hi just purchased this bike and want some new pedals to go with the 105 groupset. I have reviewed the 105 pedals and notice they are clip in? Having never used clip in pedals (coming from mountain biking), how do they work and can normal shoes be worn?

Clipless pedals will require cyling shoes with cleats to be used. Cleats come with clipless pedals and are attached to the shoes.
