1 packed holds 2 brake 'cassettes' with blocks(so left and right parts for front or back only). But there is also 2 additional blocks - which will be as replacement in to the cassettes when the others have worn out.

I don't really get the question
you can install this brakesysteminstead of shimano

be carefull though not to buy only the replacement pads but the whole thing

I ride them on shimano Ultegra brakes
for over a year now works perfectly for me
