i bought one and yes it comes with the uk power plug however you can get adapters such as a korjo power adapter to overcome this and they are not expensive. Travel accesories can be bought from Kmart or target or big W. they are readily available.

The pack i bought from wiggle came with a UK power plug. However you can charge the watch from your computer with the USB that comes with it. Otherwise you can buy and adaptor for about $10 at Dick Smiths.

No foot pod is required. It is all done from the GPS.

the 405cx does not require a footpod to calculate your pace. this is done by the inbuilt GPS. its more accurate and less hassle if you swap shoes all the time. E.g. trainning shoes racing flats, spikes.

Everything you need is included in the pack. Except wiggle issue it with a UK power plug so if you're not going to charge it with your computer then you just need an adapter. The foot pod is an extra item which you can use for running on a treadmill. You basically set it up for your stride length then clip on your shoe whilst running on a treadmill. The purpose is so that your watch will still log your activities even when doing this "stationary" activity. I think that's a bit of a waste as the treadmill already does that for you. And besides, if you have such a fab watch with GPS capabilities you should be enjoying your runs outdoors as much as possible.

You will need a footpod to calculate pace/steps during use. The watch can calculate your speed and elevation from GPS so gives a accurate distance without the footpod though.
i have the same problem. under training menu you can set the number of fields your watch displays ie HR and pace only so that you can actually make sense of what you are looking at. you have the option of 3 training screens with each up to 3 fields. i set one for distance and HR, the 2nd cadence and speed for my cycling ect, so you can choose what is more relevant for you.

Question
can you use this watch to pace km/min with out foot pod
I have always used polar watches but haven't had a good run with them latley. I have to run with min per kms showing on screen to push myself so i normally use foot pod but these are not exact. so can i use this watch without a footpod while it shows min per km while you run accurately.

Yes - this is how i use this - it will show you your time per lap - set the lap to 1km which i think is the default and it is clearly visible.
Each lap done you get a beep and the display holds that time per lap for a while onscreen.

yes it can do it without the foot pod as long as you are running outdoors. the gps built in the watch calculates this. the footpod would be necessary if you do alot of running indoors e.g a treadmill at the GYM. it may be possible to get this info indoors if you are running on a treadmill near the window, so that the watch can connect to the satellites. i have been able to do this.

No the battery is not user replaceable. Mine is down to 3 hrs after only 2 years. I would never buy this series watch again, have just replaced with a 310xt.

You can return the computer to Garmin for a battery replacement when it reaches the end of its life, this has a flat fee attached to it so you would need to contact Garmin for more information. Battery life depends on use, charge cycles and what temperature you use the device in.

The Forerunner 405CX can only provide a position as latitude/longitude rather than OS grid. The Forerunner 310XT can provide position as OS grid as well as other worldwide countries.
