Cleats are specific to the type of pedal you use so are not supplied with shoes. You should get cleats with your pedals or you need to purchase them separately if they have worn out.

Question
Size advice on the dhb R1 Road Cycling Shoe
This is the first time I've purchased Cycle shoes and haven't got a clue as to the best size.
I normally wear size 9 or 10 trainers depending on the make. 9 is generally tight and have to wear them in, 10 will generally fit easier but after time becomes too loose. As not many brands do a 9.5, what would you recommend ?

a size 9 is a 44 which is a good fit plus these shoes are fairly tight and sturdy they will take a lot of abuse but if u say that u normally have to take a size 10 in a trainer then i would go for a size 45 as these will not get loose like your trainers do because as i say they are a lot more sturdy than a trainer hope this helps

I'm normally a size 7, but got these in 8 and they fit me well. My current pair have slightly stretched, but I've done a lot of mileage in them.

I've just got a replacement pair of the same shoe.

I wear a size 10 shoe and purchased the size 10 which was a perfect fit and allows me to wear thick socks or thinner socks with them if i pull the straps tighter i would go with the correct sizing for shoes as they fit perfect !

As the chart has already been adjusted to take into consideration that these shoes fit tight, we would advise using the charts rule and order a size 7.

Question
My size is normally between a 10 and 11. Is it worth me going for the 47 in these?
They will be used all year round. With my DHB MTB shoes I just pull the velco straps down more.

@ spenceey I'm an 11 - 12 and the 47s are really tight for me (I bought them due to budgetry constraints). If I could find a 49 that doesn't cost an arm and a leg I would get them.

I'm going to use my 47s to commute to work and back (about 45 mins either way) but give me 6 months of saving and I'll have enough to get 49s - but obviously they'll have to be in a different brand.

Bottom line? I'd recommend getting 49s if you can - as you say you can just pull the straps down more.

I'm an 11 (occasionally a 12) and got 47 and it fits fine, so maybe go for 46. If it doesn't fit the wiggle returns policy is really good, can swap easily.

I am usually a 10/11 but I went for the 10, they are a little cramped in a 10 if you wear thick socks so I would advise getting the 11, where that is EU 46/47 I don't know off hand!

No. I have got two pairs of these shoes in 43 and I have a size nine foot. A 44 or a 45 would be a better bet. Order both at once and send back the pairthat don't fit. I have tried a 44 last year and they were too big. Hope this helps!

If you want to get into it, id recommend shimano r540. Good value entry level, come with cleats (yellow) which fit this shoe. Bit daunting at first but once you get used to it, I wouldn't look back now

I can highly recommend these - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-pd-r540-spd-sl-sport-pedals/

I use the same combination of shoe + pedal, and they feel fantastic for the price. They are easy to clip in and out of whilst feeling very supporting, both are a must for beginners. And when you become more confident being clipped in you can tighten up the spring holding the cleats in place which will make them feel even more supporting!

You need a pair of SPD (e.g. Shimano PD-M520) or SPD-SL pedals (e.g Shimano R540). Although the mounting systems for the two cleats are different, these shoes have the slots on the bottom to fit either one. The right cleats should come with the pedals.

I believe Look pedals are also compatible with SPD-SL, and again you should get the cleats with the pedals.

Don't know about these specific shoes, but as a general rule, no. Cleats are specific to pedals, rather than shoes, so they will always come with pedals.

e.g. buy SPD pedals and you'll get SPD cleats. Look pedals come with look cleats etc.

Reason for this is you can wear either cleat/pedal combination on a road shoe.

Hope that helps
