Speedometer.
Every photo of this product shows the speed in k/ph, and there is nothing in the description on whether it is possible to change it to m.ph. So basically, can it be altered to m/ph?

Strada Double Wireless

answer 1
The time of day is an option for the secondary display (smaller digits at the bottom of the display). You can cycle through: distance 1, distance 2, odometer, average speed, max speed, time of ride, cadence and time of day. I think that is all. Speed is always shown on the larger figures.

Yes, you can select it to show at the bottom. It is one of the scroll through items so it isn't on there if you are looking at your distance, cadence etc, but you could just leave it on there.

Question
Cadence or speed?
On my old Cateye Astrale (very satisfactory) the main display could be switched between cadence and speed. As I am interested in cadence, and in middle age my sight is not so good, I have kept the main display on cadence. Does this computer have the option to switch between the two functions for the main (larger) display, or does it only show speed?

All screens show speed as the main top display. Below is the alternative infomation which is shown along with speed. The alternatives are -Distance 1, Distance 2, Average speed, Max speed, Elapsed time, Current time, Cadence.
The only down side is that average cadence is not recorded.

My old eyes also have problems telling the cadence figures except in full light. The smaller digits are not nearly as clear and you cannot make cadence the principal display.
BTW, the unit also suffers from interference from flashing front lights. (That fact is hidden in the fitting instructions) It will stop taking readings for a while then start again - intermittently. Turn the light to permanent beam and the interference stops.
There is no back light which is also a drawback. If I'd known these things, I would have chosen another computer - with a larger display, less prone to interference and with a back-light. In fact just like the V3.

No - the combined sensor measures both speed and cadence (pedalling rate), so a magnet fitted to one of your cranks has to pass over it.

Question
Reliable?
Hi,
I am trying to decide between the Strada Cadence (wired) and the Strada double wireless. The wireless model will of course be much neater but I want the unit to work reliably. Does anyone have reasonably long term experience of this unit? does it just work or are there any issues? If the unit stops working now and again I would rather go for the wired model.

Thanks

No easy answer here. Mine's stopped working once or twice (I've had it for 1,000km). But it's pretty reliable.
I'm actually surprised how reliable it is, since the sensor unit seems very moveable and I expected rough roads would shake it. Mostly, it keeps working rain or shine.

Assuming that by 'centre stem post' you mean the stem, that's where I've got mine, on my road bike. The mount handles that perfectly. But note that if your stem is steeply angled the screen may be difficult to see properly on the road.

It will depend on the nature of the interference but this computer uses one sensor and one receiver so interference will probably affect both metrics.

However, I have never experienced interference while using this computer for some years. I would prefer a separate sensor for speed and cadence to make it easier to fit but this is a very good value system regardless of that.
