Question
Hi there! Are the Lake MX330C MTB shoes compatible with Speedplay Frogs? What "year of make" are the shoes? Thank you.
The info leaflet accompanying the Frogs implied that "some" models of the Lake MTB shoes were incompatible with the Frogs, giving rise to some concern:

"Lake models 2010 and earlier..may require lugs to be trimmed to allow cleat to properly seat against sole."

The pedals & shoes were gifts, my very first pair pedals & shoes (all purchased from Wiggle). Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated.

You should find the Lake shoes and Speedplay Frogs will be compatible. As Lake point out, some earlier models required the rubber sole to be trimmed slightly to allow the cleat to fully engage. I believe the soles aren't quite as aggressive now so allows the frogs to engage without the need to trim the rubber sole.

The sizing of these brands is very similar I would suggest the same size.

BOA Fastening system
Does anyone have any more details or advice on the fastening system used on these shoes? I've read a few reports saying they are prone to failure. Like the look of the shoes but hesitate with this fastening.

The BOA system is the most advance fastening system.

It provides even closure, so no pressure points.

Extremely strong and easy to use.
