Questions & Answers for dhb Finchdean Ladies Bib Cycling Shorts
Question
Dhb Women's Bib Shorts
Hi, They look great and the reviews are really good, so I am thinking of investing in a pair. My questions are if the sizing is on the small or the larger side? In Men's bib shorts I tend to go for large since I find the legs too tight. Then, though, the top is too big. Please advise. Secondly, how would you wear a base layer with those bib shorts?

I just wear a black sports bra underneath and found that fine. I normally wear a size 8 in pants and bought the size 10 bib - not loose, but I could have gone down a size if it was available.

Bought recently for my wife. Size 10 fits well, she is normally size 8-10. She wears sports bra underneath and a cycling top over if weather dictates.

I think the sizing is slightly on the larger side. No problem with tight legs, I feel. The fabric has a pretty soft touch. You could wear a base layer either on top or underneath.

Hi I think these may work for you. I found the body slightly small for a size 10 more like an 8/9 but a bit too short for my longer body. If your long legged you should be okay the grippers were too baggy for me.
Wear the base layer below so you only have your top Jacket to take off. Hope that helps

The legs on these are secure but not silly tight. I always just wear my base layer over the top.

Sizing question
I have some difficulties finding the correct size. My hight is 181cm, bust 85cm, waist 70cm and hip 88cm. So; will small or x-large fit best?

Tricky one - I'm 155cm, 85cm bust, 65cm waist, short in body and ordered the size 10. Fits well, but can bunch up a bit around the crotch when riding so have to readjust every now and then. Better go x large - if too large, you can always run in the seams a bit, but you can't add fabric!

I'm only 168cm, but somewhat skinny. The size 10 is great on me, but I'm sure they would stretch to fit a few inches taller. The legs may come up a bit short, though. I'd say go for a 12.

I've just checked the size of my bib shorts and they are labelled size 14. They fit me very well and my height is 165cm, bust 86, waist 81, hip 91.

You should order based on height as the straps will dig into your shoulders if you order a size that is too small for you. You should try the XL, with the straps in place the rest of the garment is usually held in place very well.

Question
Upper body sizing...
I am really keen to order a pair but I am just wondering about the upper body sizing. I am only 5'3 and would take a size 12 (I have a 29inch waist), but height wise the chart says 5'7". Would I end up with a badly fitting top?

I am 5'1", usually size 8 and ordered a 10 and found the fit to be fine. Material sometimes bunches up a bit around the crotch when riding so the 8 would have been better - plenty of strech left in the top.

I'm 5'1" and a UK size 10. I wear a size 10 in these shorts, and they are quite short in the body so fit me perfectly. Given your height and dress size, I expect you'd probably be OK with a size 12 in these shorts (sorry if I'm wrong though!). I reckon you'd have to be a really skinny 5'7" to fit them!

I would suggest that you base your size mostly around your height and that a little extra material around the waist would be preferable to being cut in half around the crotch area.

I found the chamois well-shaped, better than my original bib, which was top of the range. So comfy, I tend to wear it long after my ride!

Well, I would say it's a fairly typical shape for a woman's pad...with like cut-outs to help with pressure points.. It's thicker than some of the pads in my other shorts which adds to comfort. I think they are the most comfortable shorts I have.

Very comfortable chamois. Not too thick that you feel like you are wearing a nappy though.
I am a size 8 and it fitted in all the right places, with no pinching in any shape or form.

Laid out flat and measured from the center of the pad along the inner leg: 22cm. It is short! It rides halfway up my thigh. If you want to avoid the horror suntan line if you wear short skirts off the bike, it's great. If you have anything but stunning legs, it's not a good look on the bike.

The leg measurements around the leg grippers is as below. The leg grippers will stretch out so this is just the measurement (circumference) while the shorts are laying flat:
UK8: 14" UK10: 15" UK12: 16" UK14: 17" UK16: 18"

Hi Boomero
I'm 5' 8" with long legs, normally a UK size 14 - bought the size 14 and it fits fine - in fact there is a lot of give in the length of leg so I wouldn't foresee any problems there.
