Questions & Answers for Focus Izalco Chrono 2009

Question
UK Time Trials
I'm looking to get a Focus Izlaco Chrono for Triathlon & Time Trialing. With the American Position of the bottom bracket not being UCI legal, does that mean I won't be able to Time Trial on this bike?

not necessarily. you will not be able to time trial in UCI events (the 3T ventus aerobars are also UCI illegal as of this year - exceeding the 3:1 ratio).. from what I understand however most events in this country, and certainly as far as trithlons are concerned do not come under UCI regulation and so you should be fine....

Question
Seat tube angle and Euro/US BB
I'm looking at the Izalco Chrono purely for Triathlons and would normally look to ride reasonably steep with the seat post angle at around 80 degrees.

Is there much flexibility in the Izalco Chrono to achieve these types of seat angles?

Also I have read mentioned a number of times the BB position on the Izalco Chrono as being either traditional Euro or US, what does this mean?

Only by moving the seat as far forward as possible. The U.S position of the BB means you can not use these bikes for some competitions.

Question
Would love to buy the focus time trial bike. is it possible to have a 606 set up of the zipp wheels rather than 808 front and back?
I think the 808 would be a little too deep for me. would prefer a 404 front and a 808 rear. Is this possible ??

Question
Seat post
Hi Guys,

It's a bit hard to see from the pic but it looks like there maybe a little adjustability in the seatpost clamp, for and aft, can you tell me if there is any? Also looks like the clamp is positioned forward of the middle of the seat post, will this provide a little forward off-set over the 76 degree seat angle?

Thanks,

Bikes are assembled to order so we do not have bikes to view. I would advise checking out this section concerning the 7 day test ride;
