Questions & Answers for Shimano Dura Ace Track Single Sprockets

Question
What is the difference between 1 / 2" x 1 / 8" sprockett and a 1 / 2" x 3 / 32" sprocket?

1/8 or 3/32 refers to the chain width, you can use a 3/32 sprocket with a 1/8 or 3/32 chain but you cannot use a 1/8 sprocket with a 3/32 chain as the chain will not be wide enough.
A derailleur chain will be 3/32, single speed bikes may have 1/8, a BMX chain will be 1/8.

answer 2
1/8" is equal to 4/32", so is slightly wider than 3/32". This makes it slightly heavier but stronger and more durable.

Just make sure you don't get a narrower 3/32" chain with the wider 1/8" sprocket. Other combinations should work.

answer 3
This is the chain pitch measurement and should be matched to the chain and chainrings you are using.

Question
Will this fit?
I have a singlespeed bike with a flip-flop hub and am looking for a fixed sprocket to put on the other side of the hub so I can also ride it fixed gear. The flip-flop hub has a thread and lockring. I was wondering if this will fit?

I think so - I bought it for the flipflop on my singlespeed so I could ride fixed, it fits just right (with a lockring and thread), and I think those hubs are pretty standardised.

Unfortunately I can't tell without knowing what hub it is that you have and what thread the hub is using. Some hubs have different threads and need to be matched with the correct sprockets and lockrings.

Yes.
I have mine on an Aero Rage.
Obviously you have to put it on the fixed side with a lock ring, not the free side.

Yes, but you would not be able to back pedal brake unless you locktite the cog on. You would not be able to fit a lockring on freewheel threads

answer 2
It will *fit*, but it won't be particularly safe as a fixed wheel. A proper fixed hub has a left-hand threaded lockring, which the threaded section of the White hub lacks. The sprocket will therefore be unsecured, which means that it could unthread itself if you push back on the pedals hard. That said, many riders have used fixed sprockets without lockrings through the years. It's clearly not legal as a brake, though.
