Compatibility with Shimano Deore XT FC-M770 crank
Is the Hope 68/73 BB compatible where the frame width is 67mm and the total width (including 3 spacers) is 75.5 mm. The bike is a Norco fluid MTB.

I was about to order one of these, when a read the answer here that it's not compatible with FSA V-Drive MegaExo.

Is that right, I have read else where that this B B is FSA compatible, but Hopes website does not say specifically.

Will the mtb bb work for a 68mm frame ?

It would depend on the spindle diameter of your crankset. Its definitely not compatible with an FSA Gamma Drive, the spindle on that is far smaller (I think 19mm, whereas I believe the Hope is for a 24mm spindle). I also believe that FSA make a number of cranksets with differing spindle diameters.

Enduro Bearings have a good write up on compatibility with FSA cranksets, it'd be worth googling for it.

okay, it's not going to work. Asked Hope, and they said FSA MegaExoaxel is slightly too large for the Hope BB

Truvativ use the GXP bottom bracket standard which is not a supported size by Hope. You will need to order a Truvativ GXP bottom bracket.

Works for either but you can get lighter weight BBs for Roadies.

These cups can be used on either MTB or Road. The Road versions of the cups are labelled Road so you should order one without Road in the size option.

I use the Pedros one, but any Hollowtech compatible tool will do the trick.

Also - wrap the BB in a plastic bag as you're fitting it, prevents the tool damaging the finish.

No, SLX cranks are for 68/73mm only - you need an 83mm crank like Saint or Raceface Atlas.

These are shimano compatible, so as long as your crankset is the hollowtech version then it should fit.
