SRAM have intergrated their products to the Shimano brand. A red cassette should fit on your Shimano hub

Question
Can you put a 10sp cassette on a hub that currently has a 9sp cassette on it?
I have Ksyrium wheels and hubs with a 9sp Shimano cassette on it. Is it possible to just replace it with a 10 speed cassette so that I can replace my gear changers with the new 10sp ones?

yes, as long as you are using the same freehub. ie shimano and shimano etc. You will need 10spd running gear to match the cassette though!

Sram fits Shimano 9/10 speed hubs and Sram specific hubs. Does not fit Shimano 10 speed.

Question
SRAM Cassettes: 1090 v 1070
Although not a racer, I intend to take part in UK Sportives and climb in the French Alpes (Galibier/Alpe d'Huez) during the summer. Although light, I am concerned the 1090 cassette is simply too noisy. Is this the case? How temperamental is the system and does it need servicing over and above that required by the 1070? It is a lot of money and want to know if it is worth it, so views welcome.

When I first fitted casette it was noisy until I made sure that the chain alignment was exact. since then have had no problems. If price is an issue the 1070 is excellent value slightly heavier but alignment and lubrication are still important.

Decided to buy the 1090. Noise is not as loud as I had feared. Lightning quick shifting. Happy with the purchase.

i had a shimano cassette before this and i don't think its any noisier than that one but it does make a different noise. i think this is because of the sealed design of the main body of the cassette.

answer 4
The 1090 is said to be louder due to the machining on the teeth compared to that of the 1070 but functions in the same way, the advantage of the 1090 is the weight loss.

Question
Red Powerdome cassette and Fulcrum Hubs
I have Fulcrum racing zero wheels and want to move from Dura Ace 7700 to Sram Red, a member of my club said that the sram red powerdome cassette does not fit the Fulcrum (Shimano) hub. Can you advise?

I have just bought Fulcrum Race Zero's and put this cluster on just fine on the "shimano" hub. Fits like a glove. I have the 11-28.
I am running SRAM Red on my new bike but this cluster also fits with most Shimano 10 speed gear.

The fitting is the same as Shimano, the only problem you might have is that some brands limited their 10 speed freehubs to Shimano Dura Ace 10 speed cassettes only. You will need to identify if there is a 'lip' around 10mm into the spline that will prevent standard cassettes from fitting.

Question
The reverse side color of this cassette is RED?
Normally, the backside color of this gear is RED. However, there are "YELLOW" and "BLACK" version, too. In products list, You daringly listed "SRAM OG1090 10 Speed Cassette - Red (Black)" and "SRAM OG1090 10 Speed Cassette - Red (Yellow)", so this is "RED COLOR" version?

Question
Is there a red back to this cassette? Not visible from the picture
Silly question. The other two cassette choices are SRAM Red (black) and SRAM Red (yellow) cassettes. Does this SRAM Red cassette have a RED back to it? Not visible on your picture. I want to make sure it matches new bike ( "shamefaced" :-( )
