If you fit the sensors on your wheel and chainstay then it picks up your speed based on the wheel size and gives you a distance cycled.
I use mine all the time on the turbo

I think so, if you have the cadence sensor there is a magnet attached to the rear wheel.

There is also a training setting in the options.

i have been reliably informed it will as the cadence and speed is set up on the back wheel i have just ordered mine off wiggle the 705 road bundle and i will be leaving a review my purchase was based on other user reviews and being informed it will perform just the same on a turbo trainer as it does on the road so not just a summer tool but an all year round training aid as well with some good features have been advised to buy the uk map bundle as the one thats pre loaded could be better but as i say i will be leaving a review hope this helps

Yes, the back tire is where all the calculations come from and GPS in not the only source of distance tracking.

Yes but you need to make sure the GLC10 speed/cadence sensor is also fitted. You also need to make sure that auto adjust wheel size is turned off.

No. This unit measures distance and speed from gps position, not wheel sensors, so won't work on a stationary trainer.

It really depends on how you have the Edge 705 set up. You can have up to 8 different sections displayed on the main screen. I use 6 windows, as this is all I feel I need. The top 2, my most important parameters - heart rate and cadence - are displayed in quite a large font size, I would say 22/24 point. The other 4 windows are slightly smaller and sometimes, when you are going quite fast and the road surface is not very smooth and you have sunglasses on and the sun is in the wrong direction, it can be hard to read the data in the 4 smaller windows. But, certainly not impossible, and in any event how much data do you need to know second by second by second.
I guess, if you only want 2 or 3 lots of data, all the windows would be very big and a lot easier to see. The great thing about the Edge 705 is that you can get it to display what you want where you want!
I hope this helps.

Depends on how much you want to see at once, you can show upto 8 measurements at one time the more you have the smaller the text. I find it easy to read though.

It depends upon how much information you want on the screen. You can program to display up to 8 bits of data. I normally need glasses to read, but I can see the information clearly ( font about 7mm). You can program to show less information, in which case the information is bigger (about 11mm).

answer 5
The 705 has two displays which you can switch between. Each can be divided up into up to eight sections. In each section you can display any of the live (speed/cadence/etc) or calculated (average etc) stats.

At their largest (1 or 2 items displayed) the characters are about 14mm tall, so quite large and easy to read at a glance. You can also adjust the contrast and backlight to make the text easier to read.

My preference is to have one screen showing just speed and cadence, and another with 8 smaller items with some more detailed ride break down for cafe stop statistics.

The Edge features multiple bike setups but not multiple users. You can switch from one bike to another and get accurate readouts but you can't log in as a different user to keep data separated on the device under different accounts.

Most - if not all - power transformers work on a very wide voltage range, something like 110-250v. It will say on the transformer.
