Questions & Answers for SixSixOne Dirt Lid Cycling Helmets

Question
Would the 661 dirt helmet be suitable for everyday use?
I ride mainly roads and trails. Trails are a mixure of hard pack gravel and woodland paths. Ventilation is not an issue - i'd rather be to hot than cold.

Do you have any recommendations for XC helmets?

I use the 661 dirt lid everyday in central London, i also use a 'normal' lid at home on a road bike. I think the 661 gives just as much ventilation as a traitional road bike lid. For around £26 you can't really go wrong!

I use one of these for the same kind of thing, mostly trails, some road, a little cross-country.. it suits me fine and I don't get too hot. I love it!

You can use this for everyday use if you so wish, it is a perfectly capable helmet but just styled more towards the jump/extreme market. It is lacking in ventilation and will be heavier then most XC or Road helmets but if this isn't a issue you should be fine.

Question
Will a sixsixone dirt lid be big enough for me?
I usually need a large helmet size (my head is about 61cm or only just under), and wondered about how big the sixsixone single size is. Should I opt for the Giro Flak instead? Find the Bell Faction a bit too bulky. Just like the minimalist look of the sixsixone.
Cheers.
