Question
I want a cycle computer for the rear seat of a tandem.
I need either
a) a computer with a very long wire connection,
or
b) to know the communication distance for wireless computers so that I can select an appropriate one.
Can you please advise?

Wireless computers usually transmit a signal upto a meter, we would suggest a rear wheel fitting computer, something like the http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Cateye_Strada_Cadence_Cycle_Computer/5360029333/ would be fine.

how big is the display i have problem with my eyesight at that distance and have trouble reading display eyesight out to a distance is great
If this unit doesnt suit can you suggest another model that has the basic features that is wireless. allready own two cateye comps that are too small to read.
