it's multi fit, however i required 34.9,, just means you don't add any shims if it were smaller frame size

You will need to check the pull ratios. SRAM shifters expect a different ratio to Shimano ones. You should match Shimano shifters to Shimano Mechs, and SRAM Shifters to SRAM Mechs. That means you should be able to use this, as long as you use a Shimano front mech.

Question
M770 Bottom Pull Mech
I have a Scott Strike Pro Carbon MTB and the front mech I am told is a Shimano M770 bottom pull which screws to a plate not the seat tube. Is your M770 compatible with this bike as I ordered one from a local shop and it turned up as a top pull mech only??? I appreciate the bike is old and on its way out but I really need to find any Mech that will work with it.

Attaching to the plate, not the tube, requires the adapter (generally from the chainset, not the mech) that this will attach to. the M770 does not come with the bottom bracket attachment adapter.

answer 2
I just bought one of these & it is clearly a clamp on product only. It would not bolt directly to a frame fitting. There maybe some variation to the product which would accomodate your frame. You may have to buy one which clamps into the bottom bracket fittings.

answer 3
I beleive you need a bottom bracket mount derailleur which fits behind the bottom bracket cup and has a plate that holds the derailleur in place? If so you need the Dual Pull BB Mount option. This derailleur can accept the cable from the top or bottom so the direction of pull is not an issue.

answer 2
Would probably find that the poor shifting is more likely the chainset rather than the mech. check its adjustments as per the manual, then consider a different chainset.

answer 3
This derailleur will work with your SRAM shifter and should be fine with a 8 speed chain. You may experience some contact and noise due to the wider chain.

This M770 will fit no problem. You need a topswing mech like this one for the Reign and Trance frame type as there isn't room in the suspension gubbins to fit a bottom swing higher up the tube.

answer 2
You should order the Dual Pull Top Swing Multi Fit version. Although we have never sold this bike so I had to look online and I do not know what year your frame is, you should still double check with Giant to be sure what fitting you need.
