Questions & Answers for Charge Spoon Saddle with Cromo Rails 2011

Question
is the charge spoon water proof?
I have to store my bike outside and I am looking for a comfy saddle that I can simply wipe dry in the morning rather than worrying that I am going to sit on a wet sponge for my commute.

saddles are rarely fully waterproof as they need to breathe and stretch. buy a cheap saddle cover or better still, a light bike cover. Raleigh do a pretty serviceable one for about £15.

Yes its waterproof. It's a hard saddle so no way it can absorb any water.

answer 4
This saddle is not completely waterproof due to the stitching, you may find a small amount of water can seep through the stitching and into the padding, I would suggest looking at a waterproof saddle cover that you can remove before riding to work.

Simple answer is yes, but in more detail the Rocket has a more ergonomic groove down the center which may be more comfortable. Also the rocket is available in more price points and colors where as the spoon is more limited.

answer 3
I wouldn't really compare the Spoon and the Rocket V, the saddles are quite different. The problem with saddle choice is a small change can mean the difference between comfort and discomfort. The rocket V has a deeper cut away and more padding at the rear. The feedback on the spoon saddle shows that it is considered a very comfortable saddle but it needs to suit the rider.

Question
What colour bar tape goes best with the Brushed Tan saddle?
I like the brushed tan colour on the Charge Spoon saddle, and I would like to get matching bar tape.

My alternatives are the Fizik Microtex honey brown and the Deda Camel Beige.

Thanks!

Well I bought the Fizik first, but it was darker and the shade was off, I guess it would go better with the brown saddle. The Deda Camel Beige is a little bit lighter, but the hue is spot on. So, answer = Deda.

The Fizik brown or brown honey would match most suitable with the brushed tan saddle.

Question
How much longer before this item is back in stock?
I've had a bad experience with Wiggle previously where I'd placed an order and the message said that stock was exepcted shortly, only to have my order cancelled and the product message state it was discontinued. I've placed an order for a black saddle a few weeks back with the message stating new stock was expected mid May - which is already upon us - do you know when this product will be back in stock?

The Black/Orange is more of a very dark Grey/Red TBH.

I'd struggle to describe it as "Black", but it does look much better in the flesh than on the page.

As far as I am aware Charge has stuck with their well received design so latest models don't differ from previous models.
