How do the sizes of Pearl Izumi shoes come up?? ie are they small sizes like some of the other makes

I don't think their sizes are 'small'. I have some Pearl Izumi MTB shoes from Wiggle. I ordered them in the same size as my old Scott shoes, which is also my size in runners, and they fit perfectly.
I am a male, though - I don't know if my experience would translate to women's sizes.

The 39 weighs 279g each shoe, they are not really equivalent to any of the mens shoes and are a ladies specific model.
