Should work fine with other wider chains, like those for 5, 6, 7 and 8 speed blocks/cassettes.

Question
Would this work on the KMC X8 chain?
Ive been having real trouble removing a couple of links from the KMC X8 chain, I removed a couple last night and realised I needed to remove a couple more, when atempting this the thread on my extractor broke. Is it meant to be this hard? And should I be removing so many links from a chain to make it fit my bike? when in the lowest gear on the front sproket my back derailer hits the back sproket, this is why I am shortening it.

thank you.

You shouldn't have so much trouble removing the links but this extractor does support the X8 chain. You should only really have to break the chain once, rather than doing it one link at a time you should measure the chain out and then remove the extra chain links.

It might just fit, but a BBB Nautilus will do it. I have managed before with other extractors but it can be a bit tight with the bigger chains.
