NO. The brighness is great, but the focus means you only have a very narrow beam - not great for seeing the best path ahead of you. Great for oncoming traffic knowing you are there.

It depends on how quick you are riding...The rear light is super bright and can be seen for hundreds of yards. For the front, however I recomment using a pair of these lights and you will be fine.

Honestly no, I would suggest as a bare minimum if you want to survive this light; http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/H...

Question
Positioning of front light
How would one position such a meaty front light? Pointing straight ahead or pointing slightly down? I mean, it's not bright enough to dazzle other road-users is it??

I point this straight ahead - usually flashing. It isn't a great environment light and won't blind anyone like high beam on a car

When I ride off road/single track etc I tend to have my lights(a pair on the front) dipped so i can see the track ahead of me. When commuting in the evening on urban streetlamped roads I have 1 light slightly dipped - to highlight potholes etc, and the other pointing ahead to be seen by oncoming traffic.

I would suggest angling the light slightly downwards.

You may be able to mount it on your stem but would advise against it on roads.
