Yes mate, the Roller classics fit no problem. Not sure about the roller plus but i assume they do. The attachment hooks are on rails on the pannier so are adjustable.

Yes.

Both panniers will fit most racks. QL2 is just easier to adjust, QL1 requires tools. Also QL2 is compatible with the optional (but not a serious security deterrent) anti-theft cable.

I had no problem fitting the Orlieb Back Roller Plus. The rack allows you to mount the bag lower than conventional racks for lower centre of gravity.

Hi,

The quick answer is most standard fitting panniers will fit. My personal preference is Ortlieb, although Carradice would also fit.

Do you have a specific pannier in mind?

Most panniers will fit this rack, the ones with the Rixen and Kraul system would be the ones to choose though. This is a simple hook with a swivel to keep them in place.

A 29" MTB wheel is the same size as a 700c (aka 28") road wheel, which is the standard size.

So to answer your question, yes this should fit fine on most 29" wheel mountain bikes as the rack has plenty of clearance over the wheel, even with a mudguard - Just fitted one of these onto my Orbea AOS 700c urban bike with fat 35mm tires the other day so I know this from direct experience.

Be aware though you may have fitting issues if you have disc brakes or no mounting points.

See here for more info about wheel sizes and the confusion regarding the term 29" wheel.

Question
Can I mount Carradice Super C Rear Panniers on the lower rung?
Do you know if I'll be able to mount Carradice supper C rear panniers on the lower rung of this carrier? Also - do you know when you'll have more stock of this and the Nova?

Yes - that's where I carry them and it is really good because the rack has a couple of struts to lock the bags in place fore and aft.

answer 2
Hi,

I believe the Carradice Super C fit all regular racks, including the Tubus. Just out of interest.... why would you want to fit to the lower rung - is it for lowering the centre of gravity? Or are you concerned the panniers would interfere with a rack bag?

I have used the top rung of a rack like this and had a dry bag on top of the rack. It all fitted together nicely.

For questions about stock, your best bet might be to email sales@wiggle.co.uk.

Regards

Neil

For most bikes. However I had issues with mounting it to my aluminium city bike as my rear seat stays were quite large and got in the way of the rack when it attaches to the rear axle.

I now have to find a way of attaching it, which means I will have to source some longer mounting bolt and spacers to widen the rack to get around the stay tubes. I wish this rack came with longer bolts such as 20-22mm, as well as wider spacers to fit it. Annoying having to source my own.

Question
Is this the "new improved" version of the rack
Looking on the Tubus website and it says this rack is "new and improved"

http://www.tubus.com/en/rear-carriers/cosmo

The new improved COSMO is our top of the line stainless steel rear carrier. It now comes with wider and longer top space and protected rear light position! The back hooks of panniers are secured against sliding. The new COSMO has a maximum load of 40 kilos.

Can someone confirm if this newer version or the older one.

Yes the older rack had a narrower and shorter top platform. This one is wider and longer, providing much better stability for your trunk bag or your tent/sleeping pad. There is also an extra welded cross bar on the middle horizontal bars that keeps the back clasp of your pannier from sliding backwards. Definitely good improvements.

I just got the rack the other day - the answer to your question is that there is no new or old version of the Cosmo! The cosmo it's self IS the new and improved model! Hence the feature set and price tag. So go for it.

This depends on the bike, usually the caliper will be in direct line with the QR so would block the rack from the QR fitting kit. If the brake caliper is held in a non-obtrusive location it shouldn't be a problem.
