I'm also diabetic (but not a 'medic'), but diet controlled - sorry I don't know which way a hypo is - if you're short of sugar then yes, these would be brilliant - only 5g of sugar in the carbs . . . that's usually my limit of intake

You should check with a specialist but I would suggest not really as they may not be as quick working a a hypo would require. Dextrose tablets and lucozade are better.

Interesting question. Several companies have developed concentrated glucose to counter hypos. These gels tends to have much more gluocse/fructose than what you'll find in these sachets. These might help to prevent hypo if you take the 3 sachets per hour and depending on your insulin regime.
My feeling is that these sachets, as all concentrated forms of energy, would help to stave off hypo but you should really consult your diabetic team if you frequently get hypo during or after exercise.
