No, the bracket comes with the seat. You may want to buy an additional bracket if you want to quickly move the seat between two bikes

Hello, one fixing bracket comes with the seat, but we bought an extra so that both my husband's bike and mine have the bracket and can carry the Siesta. It's such a great system, we love ours!

No it comes with a bracket but if you want to change between bikes then its a good idea to buy a 2nd bracket as they arent that easy to get on/off the bike. Once on they stay on and the seat quick releases in and out in under 2 seconds! My little un loves it. Also might be worth buying a neck pillow you can get them fleece lined from wiggle.

probably but need to consider the clearance of the front draillure cable from the down tube, the bracket will need to be fitted underneath the cable and might need a couple of mm clearance to avoid interference - if you dont intend on changing upp and down on the front rings it doesnt matter. The seat does destabilise the bike especially when kids are active in the back - would think twice before using something like this in a road bike even with a shorter wheel base than the urban hybrid that I use it with

This has attached successfully to two road bikes that we have with out any issues.

When checking the documentation i saw that there are a further 4 or 5 different supports that can be ordered to fit unusual frames (or the presence of panniers).

I don't know how much additional that would add to the cost though.

Yes, it does, I have an electra Amsterdam, a very Dutch looking bike, and the seat fit perfectly. However, if you have a luggage rack, you may need to purchase an extended mounting bar.

The bracket will normally fit around the cable guide on the down tube and underneath the cable but the position of the cable guide and the length of the down tube seem a bit awkward i.e you might have to mount the bracket below the cable guide but then not have enough clearance between the seat and the rear wheel

answer 2
Yes this could be a problem if the cable is exposed (ie. not in a cable sleeve) as the bracket will pinch it.

answer 3
You may be able to fit the child seat but the cable on the seat tube will likely get in the way when fitting. I would not recommend using this child seat.

its says not to attach to carbon frames. It also says not to seat posts but this might work however the child would be pretty high.

answer 2
The instructions for this seat so that it shouldn't be fitted to carbon fibre frame bikes or bikes with rear suspension. That goes for all child seats I expect. We bought a cheap rigid run-around hybrid for ours as both my MTB and road bike were unsuitable for the above reasons

the brakes should not affect the baby seat fitting.
It clamps around the seat tube part of the frame
the only thing that may affect fitting is frame size and I suspect many full suspension frames will not accept this type of fitting

Hi, ive the same bike and it fits fine.
I got the siesta one. It's a great produc.

On a side note, I find the specialised rock hopper front suspension to be very disappointing. What a let down the bike is. A joke of a suspension.

Anyway enjoy the kid seat. It's def the number 1 kids seat to get. Nothing matches it.

Yes, your brakes shouldn't affect fitting the seat. There's plenty of clearance for cables/hoses.

Fitting tip, fit it higher than you think because the seat flexes downward with your child's weight on it.

I'd recommend this seat, be gentle with the footstraps though, we broke one of the plastic catches on one of them

Question
Does the gear cable restrict fitting on some bikes?
I have just been looking in Halfords at the Hamax seats, the lady in there said that some bikes cannot be used to carry it due to the front deraillier cable becoming trapped under the fixing bracket. I think she doesnt know what she is talking about but just wanted to get a second opinion.

The product documentation advised against fitting this on a full suspension bike or any carbon fibre bike.

I've fitted mine to my wife's hard tail instead of my full susser and we just swap bikes on family rides.

tbh I think that much weight that far back over the back wheel would trash your shock and the seat would quite easily hit the back wheel when the shock gets compressed so I'd advise against (as per the product guidelines)

The bracket is around 10cm's in height, which means it will fit your larger frame, but the movement of the bikes suspension will mean the seat bobs up and down with the bike and this isn't ideal.
