They come on and off in seconds, so don't worry. I use a small saddle-bag to hold them while cycling. Depending on how much you walk (and cycle), they will extend the lifetime of your cleats with a factor 2-5!

The cleats state that they fit *all* Look cleats, so they should fit the classic no problem (but I can't say 100%!).
