Questions & Answers for SRAM X.0 Carbon Cage 8/9 Speed Rear Derailleur

Question
Does it matter if i fit a 32T or 34T cassette if i purchace the mid sized XO rear derailer/ whats compatable/ whats not, thanks guys/girls at Wiggle
My ride is a GiantXTC2, I will purchace from Wiggle ASAP the following parts,(SRAM,PG990 cassette,SRAMblackbox rear derailer, and XO shifters),

just not sure about the short cage, mid cage and long cages, I presume the short cage is for double ring crankset, but if i can i wish to fit the mid sized rear derailer for extra clearance while riding in the scrub, what the pros and cons between long and mid cages,

Have recently fitted Avid Elixers, and purchaced new Race Face AM crankset,SRAM X9 front derailer, 991 chain,Easton Vice oversized stem, Easton DH Monkeylite bars and Easton Havoc AM wheelset, nearly complete,

For 34T you would require a long cage.
