it uses zip ties and there are two alternative "bases" designed to fit the contours of your chain stays... so I would say yes.

Will it work on a turbo trainer i.e. can you put speed magnet on rear wheel and will forerunner (or whatever) pick up signal on the front of the bike?

Yes, it will pick up the signal from the GSC10, as long as it's compatable with it.
My Edge 705 will pick up the signal fron 3 or 4 metres away, once it's synced, it won't pick up interference form other devices.

Hi
According to the manual the main sensor has to be within 5mm of the wheel magnet so its got to go on the rear arm and wheel I would have said.

Remember as well as wheel speed (which is just trying to work out mph really) you have the cadence which is worked out by pedal speed. and that has to be within 5mm of the main sensor too.

Yes, it is designed to pick up from the rear wheel and crank, so if you fit it on the front fork it will look weird and not give you a cadence reading.

I use mine on my turbo all the time.

I have this fitted to both my road bikes. I use one bike on the turbo through the winter and it works in exactly the same way as it would on the road. It connects to my Garmin Forerunner 305 watch so I can monitor my cadence whilst I'm working out.

answer 2
The distance between the cadence magnet and the sensor should be around 5mm (half a cm), and anything over that may start to give problems. The Speed magnet however seems to read better and mine is around 2 cm's away (the magnet moved down along the spoke).

answer 6
Garmin don't give a maximum value, but it is suggested within 5mm. Due to the sensor for the magnet on the wheel being able able to swing in and out, it should fit on nearly all bikes. There may be an issue with the cadence sensor if your crank arm falls far away from the chain stay, but rotating the GSC 10 could resolve this to a degree.

Yes, it already comes with 2 bike mounts. In fact, if you can do without the cadence information from your 2nd bike, you can switch the Garmin between bikes and just use the GPS speed register on the 2nd bike. This saves you having to buy two speed/cadence sensors. Depends how often you ride your 2nd steed.

Question
Does this also provide speed?
I want to use my Garmin indoors (i.e. no GPS), however the description (see below) on wiggle and garmin websites suggests that the sensor only gives cadence (as apart from in the name measurement of speed (e.g. mph) is not mentioned).

"Monitor your pedaling cadence as you ride with this self-calibrating, wireless speed/cadence sensor. It measures and reports your pedaling strokes per minute, providing feedback for optimal performance."

Do you know if this unit also give speed?

Yes, it does monitor the speed, there are two magnets with it, one to fix onto the crank arm, and the other to a spoke on the wheel.
You can either enter the circumference of the wheel in mm, or if you ride it outside, it will calibrate it from the GPS readings.

yes, 2-3 cable-ties for attaching the sensor to the chainstay. Two magnets, one for the left crank-arm and one for a spoke on the back-wheel. The crank-magnet attaches with a stick-on tape + a cable tie. The spoke magnet has an M3 thread and a matching plastic 'nut' which it threads into.
