Questions & Answers for SRAM GXP Team Bottom Bracket Cup Set

Question
English vs Italian thread
How can I tell whether my current bottom bracket has an English or Italian thread? What's the difference? Are there any numbers or codes that I should look out for on my current set up (I have a 2008 Cannondale Six 13 fitted with SRAM Force gruppo (purchased in Australia). Thanks.

with a US built frame you are safe to assume you have an English thread BB, Italian thread only features on some Italian/european frames.

It can be difficult to determine if you have a British or Italian threaded bottom bracket, in this case the make of your bike makes it easy for me. Cannondale use British thread bottom bracket on their bikes.

Yes, as long as your bike has a External Cup GXP bottom bracket you should be fine with this as replacement.

Question
Is this compatible with a 73mm shell and e type derailleur?
I have a Truvativ Noir 3.3 TM crankset and GXP Team BB, both from about 2007.

The BB does not appear to fit my scott scale (73mm shell) with e-type derailleur.

Please advise.

Question
Is this a complete GXP bottom bracket?
This item says that it is just the cups.

Is it the complete bottom bracket?

Is it 68mm compatible?

If not, do you sell 68mm non ceramic GXP bottom brackets?

thanks

This is the full bottom bracket as pictured. They are 68mm compatible also.

They are called cups because with the modern crank sets the axle is part of the crank rather than part of the bottom bracket.

Yes you can use a Hollowtech II tool with these cups. You can use any external bottom bracket tool that is compatible with Shimano Holowtech II, GXP or MegaExo standards.

Is this Shimano compatible?
Specifically, M960 (I believe all Shimano Hollowtech cups are interchangeable)

The GXP system is different to the Hollowtech II system so this will not work with your M960 chainset. You need to use a Hollowtech II compatible bottom bracket cup system, like Shimano, Hope or Token.
