Absolutely - it's up to you what Shimano level you are most comfortable. 105 offers the best value for money.

yes, the fixing bolt is standard. But the length of bold is longer for front brake, so you must buy one front and one rear brake

Question
Upgrade brakes on a Kiron MTL Blade
Will the 105's (front & rear) replace my Tektro R350 on my Kiron MTL Blade. Also do you stock a brake pad for the 105's that is best suited for wet weather rides.

Yeah they are both recessed bolt road bike brakes so they should fit. Pretty standard really.
These also work with v-brake style mtb pads like the ones Kool stop make. You just need to switch the washers around the opposite way so they fit it. This can depend on the clearance you have with your front forks though. Rear usually work find but sometimes the front forks are too tight to fit the extra large pads in.
If you can fit them though its worth it as stopping in the wet is so much better.

You will find them as "Kool Stop Dura Ace/Ultegra/105 Pair Of Cartridge Inserts".
The salmon colour is for wet conditions.

I have bought two pairs but not fitted them yet so I cannot confirm how well they work but the black ones I fitted were very easy to fit.

Question
Is there a major difference in stopping power compared to Tiagra brakes?
The Tiagra groupset on my Colnago is fine, other than the stopping power of the brakes for descents - should I notice a major improvement with these? Or are they just lighter with similar performance?

I think you would be better replacing the brake pads with a good quality after market set to get the most bang for your buck.

Try Swissstop or Kool Stop

answer 2
These brakes are lighter and stiffer so you should feel at least some improvement in braking quality, how much is very difficult to say and usually the best upgrade for braking power is through the pads themselves.

The Dawes Galaxy is supplied with Cantilever brakes rather than caliper brakes. You need to make sure that the frame and fork is drilled for caliper brake mounting to be sure that they are compatible.

Question
Are these compatible with old Dia Compe levers?
As the question states, I have some old Dia Compe levers (from around the mid 80's) and was wanting to use them in conjunction these brakes. Would that be a problem?

I was also wondering if the drop would be lower than the Dia Compe 500 brakes which are currently on the bike.

Levers are similar to those shown in picture, brakes are exactly the same.

yes you should be fine with the lever pull. Generally the drop is the same unless you purchase long drop brakes but I can't confirm the drop of your brakes unfortunately.
