Question
How does it work?
Hi there. I notice it says wireless. I'm just wondering what this means.

answer 1
Wireless means that there is no wire connecting the sender unit clamped to your fork to the display unit on the bars. It means that there is no easy route in for water to the sender and display units and therefore it is more trouble free. Also no cable clutter.

answer 2
Basically there is no wire connecting the handlebar/stem terminal where you attach the computer to the receiver which you attach to the fork. This means easier setup and a cleaner look.

answer 3
Basically means there's no physical wire connecting the computer to the bicycle wheel. The readings are wireless between the computer and the fittings on the wheel.

answer 4
That there are no physical wires between the computer and the sensor.

answer 2
There is a chart in the box that provides a code number for a massive range of wheel types and sizes, even taking into account the tyre size. If you can't find exactly what you want, just pick the closest.

answer 3
Yes you can set size manually, you will just need to measure circumference of your wheel in millimetres.

answer 4
This wont work for your motorcycle as it works on preset cycle wheel sizes to avoid having to guess and manually input. I dont know how fast it has been set to I assume top speed 99MPH. You are better getting an old speedo from a breaker. I hope this helps

I have used a hosepipe on it to wash off the mud and I've never had a problem with the wireless products. I have with the wired ones though.

My bike ended up in a pond after a small incident and the computer still works, so yes, I would say it is water proof.

Hi, I can only give you my review of this item (Cateye don't state that it is or isn't waterproof|). I have used this computer in the rain and also caught it with a jet-wash once or twice. It still works like new and has never steamed up . Cheers.

Will this device fit to a rear wheel for turbo training usage?

answer 1
Yes, as long as the display unit is in range of the sender unit which the instructions say is 70cm (27.6"). If the sender unit battery is fading, this distance will reduce. If this is a problem, you could always temporarily fasten the display unit to the crossbar or even clip it to your shorts!

sordyste
answer 2
The maximum distance between sensor and computer is 70cm.
The Cateye Strada Double Wireless works off of the rear wheel and has the advantage of cadence as well but it is a lot more expensive!

It should do - the computer won't know (or care) which wheel it is reading - it's just measuring magnetic pulses as the magnet passes the sensor.

Think not - limited distance to sensor - unless you mount the display unit on your saddle!!
