Question
Can you set two different wheel sizes?
Hi, I had a Cateye Cordless 7 that I put in the wash. The Cordless 7 allowed you to set two wheel sizes (for my commuter (26in) and road bike). You just needed an extra set of sensor / magnets / fittings.. Could I do the same with this model? Many thanks

Yes, it has an A and a B setting, each can be calibrated for a different wheel size. I'm not certain if the overall odometer carries over between the two but I'd assume it does.

Yes, all you have to do is enter the circumference of your wheel in to the comp and it does the rest. There is also a guide which lists the circumference of most size tyres (diameter and width).

I see no reason why not as you program the device to the circumference of the wheel on your bike. There are A and B settings so you can swap between two different sized bike wheels

answer 6
Yes it should be OK. A 29" MTB wheel is the same size as a 700c road wheel (give or take a 1mm or 2). So if your tyre has a size marking similar to any of the 700c tryes listed in the instructions use that wheel size setting. If not measure the circumference of the outermost part of your front tyre (the part that touches the road surface). Get someone to help, mark the side wall of the tyre with a suitable marker or chalk & rotate the wheel so that this mark is at the bottom of the wheel (nearest the ground) now mark the ground with a suitable marker or chalk in line with the mark on the tyre, then roll the bike forwards in a straight line until the mark on the trye is back at the bottom of the wheel, now mark the ground again. Using a measuring tape, measure the distance between the two markings on the ground in mm's, this is your wheel size (eg. 2155) to set in the computer when you set it up.

I don't think so. I'm sure the sensor would attach ok for the back wheel but the issue would be whether it is too far away from the computer.
The instructions say a maximum of 70cm between sensor and computer and based on a crude test I just did this is about true. You would be a little outside of this for the back wheel I think.

It just has an odometer and a trip meter. To measure total distances you would need to do a subtraction after each trip if you didn't want to reset either function.

answer 2
The computer stores info for two trips - the "main trip" and a "sub trip".

Both will record every turn of the wheel but they are reset separately.

If you reset both before you start, you could leave the main trip running for the total distance, and reset the sub trip for each component of your ride. It doesn't store info for previous sub-trips, just the current one. So if you wanted to look back on all the components of your ride separately you'd have to write down the details of each component before resetting the sub trip.

Note that the sub trip measures time, distance and average speed but not maximum speed.

There is a distance 1 and distance 2 which can be separately reset. So if you are doing a series of rides and want to know the total distance then you can reset distance 1 every day and distance 2 at the end of the week...

It can be sort of, you will be able to because it's cable ties, however you will have to move the computer a lot closer (personally I run my computer on the top tube for the Turbo Trainer) but yes you can mount the sensor etc on the rear wheel as it isn't done via GPS so it will still work.

answer 5
Unfortunately not, the distance to the rear wheel is too long for the wireless transmitter. You will need a rear wheel specific fitting computer such as the Cateye Strada Double Wireless computer.
