To unstable! Could be overcome if you wash with one hand and hold the bike steady with the other!

That's exactly the reason why i bought the stand and it worked perfectly, in my opinion its even more stable if you take the front wheel off too, which allows you to clean the front forks and wheels freely

answer 4
You can use it while cleaning, but the bike will wobble about a bit, and it connects under the bottom bracket which prevents cleaning in that area.

You should be ok for cleaning the bike but be aware that it is not incredibly stable.

Short Answer: yes

Long Answer: I did a major cleaning on my bike (removed all the brake and gear cables) using this stand. It did "threathen" to fall over about once or twice, so you do need to be careful and hold the bike steady if you're going to apply additional force. But I did manage to get it done in the end, hence i would say that it is suitable.

I would say not - it can be quite unstable - chock the front wheels. But great for what it is made for - taking on tour for emergency use

Yes, it's possible to use this stand for cleaning, but you need to support a bike with free hand. The bike on the stand is not too stable. And the stand hide bottom area of a frame.

You could use the stand for this purpose but it isn't the most stable device, it is for light use only so may need some support if you are leaning on the bike at all.

answer 4
No. The support is on the bottom of the bottom braket, the cables will obstruct and cause more stability problems than the stand already suffers from.

I think you should be ok it has got different height rubber inserts that increase the height so that cables can run. however once I have changed these they became very prone to coming off. hope it helps

answer 7
Gavin,
I would say yes as my bike has the cable under the bottom bracket. It has road blocks that mount at the outer sides of the bottom bracket and thus not on the cable transfer. the instruction just say not suitable if you have an obstruction mounted on the down tube at 110-140mm from the BB centre point, i.e a water bottle or shock absorber. The swing arm might not swing over.

Michael

I don't think so. The wires would obstruct the finer tuning that you may be using the stand for. If you're not adjusting the gears, though, it should be alright.

answer 9
Yes, the stand supports the bottom bracket on small pads at the side so that there is clearance for wires - my bike is the same. It comes with a spare set of thicker pads in case you require more clearance.

answer 11
The stand supports the bottom bracket via two rubber pads at either end of the bottom bracket shell. Any cables should not be squashed by the stand.

This stand would likely hol dyour bike up as long as you require it to but it isn't designed to be a long term storage device. You should really use a upright wheel clamp or similar: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Pro_Bike_Display_Stand/5360035530/

No (probably). I think an electric bike would be too heavy. This stand's instructions state a weight limti of 14 kg (31 lbs).

Probably not. If the battery or motor are on the back wheel then the bike won't balance properly on the stand.
