This doesn't look like a 104 middle ring. It looks more like an outer ring.

The picture is indeed an outer ring but the bolt hole distance is still correct as middle and outer use the same mount.

Yes it is likely a stock picture used for all chainrings, not the actual chainring.

This item is a 4 bolt chainring which is suitable for the Shimano XT M760/Saint M800 chainsets.

This chainring is compatible with the M532 chainset, shimano do not list a M-32 chainset.

The crank arm should tell you this on the back in in-printed letters. If not you should try to do a search online and match it to the images you find, the chainsets crank arms are quite different you will find. Usually chainrings are interchangeable as long as you match up the correct BCD/PCD, most are 64 or 104 BCD/PCD for compact MTB chainsets so you sould be fine to mix these two model numbers together.
