Yes but is well worth buying the 6 pack of screw in canisters so that you can use the pump without its sheath.

Yes it accepts both threaded and threadless. Personally I prefer the threadless as they fit inside the handle of the inflator meaning your hands are away from the icy cold cartridge

I find a cartridge is good for about 1.5-2 tyres, depending on the pressure you want. I always keep a spare cartridge on me though, just in case!

answer 2
Yes the cartridge does need to be replaced after each use. I found there was a little CO2 left after inflating my 700x23 but not enough to be of any use.

No. I have a CO2 pump and I just use as much out of the cartridge as I feel I need. Its like squirting a soda syphon. The pump I use has a lock on it to prevent gas from being accidentally released.

Be aware though that open cartridges are bound to leak over time.

You can use any threaded or threadless replacement. I prefer the threadless as they fit into the handle of the inflator as the cartridges get icy cold from use.
