Question
Do you have to remove and measure exisiting BB and will any correct size ISIS BB fit?
I have a 2008 Kona Caldera with ISIS drive. I can't find the 2008 spec anywhere so don't know what size BB I need.

1. Do I have to take it out and measure as there seem to be a number of options? I assume they won't all fit.
2. Will any ISIS BB of the correct size fit - there seem to be a number of different version on the market?

There are only two measurements you need:
bottom bracket shell width on your bike - this will be either 68mm, 71mm or 73mm
axle length of the BB. Any make of ISIS BB will work if it is these measurements.

remove the cranks and measure it, you need the shaft length and the the BB width. It will be an english thread probably 68mm

It is best to take it out and measure it, the BB will have some info on it but you willneed to measure from spindle edge to edge

You need to order the correct length bottom bracket. The shell will be 68mm but you will either need to remove the bottom bracket and confirm the length or contact Kona for their advice on sizing.

Some frames don't have front derailleur braces and no room for FD bands. E-fit is made for those frames and is a metal piece w. attachment for FD. It is tightened to the right (drive) side of the BB.

Am I choosing the right BB?
I have a Felt Dispatch which has BB = FSA 68mm w/ Forged Chromoly Square Taper. It measures 103mm wide. Are there other measurements I need to obtain to replace mine? Am I choosing the right BB - or am I looking at the wrong thing?

ISIS drive is a 10 splined interface. it will not mate with a square taper crankset.

This is the wrong BB for your bike - it is an ISIS fitting and yours is square taper.
You have the measurements you need:
68mm bottom bracket shell width
103mm axle length
You don't need to buy FSA, you can buy Shimano instead

Question
Is this a new release of the Platinum Pro BB?
I ask because the RRP on most sites is £39.99, but here in Wiggle it has a list price of £49.95. That alone wouldn't be enough to get me wondering ... however most sites have a photo for the Platinum Pro that is quite different to the one shown here on Wiggle (the Wiggle photo matches the photo on the FSA site.)

Alas, Google hasn't helped much in trying to work out if there was a recent upgrade to the FSA ISIS BB line.
