Question
Use with double crankset
I have this derailer and would like to replace my triple crankset with a double. Would I need to replace the FD, or can this one be used with a double, perhaps by adjusting one of the limit screws so far that it only moves across two positions instead of three?

Yes this would work as Ive done it before. Just use the screws to limit the throw. Dont forget you bottom bracket will need changing and maybe your left hand gear lever if its STI

As this item is meant for a road bike this would not be possible as there could be a danger of over shifting.

Question
does this derailler come as a braze-on model or is it a one piece attached to the down tube clamp?
also, it says it come is black and silver. is this correct? do i have to specify my colour preference when i purchase?

This derailleur is available as both a Braze on or a Band on. The option is given in the "add to basket" section.
