Questions & Answers for Science in Sport 800ml Water Bottle

Question
Height and fitting on a standard side bottle cage
Can you tell me how tall it is because my bicycle is a small frame and wanted to know if it'll fit in it? Also, I'm currently using a side bottle cage so wanted to know if the slightly skinny bit in the middle of the bottle is actually aligned with my bottle cage so that it'll fit perfectly.

The bottle is 25cm(10in) tall overall. Don't know about fitting into your cage, but the skinny bit is 14cm from the bottom. Also the top skinny bit is 19cm from the bottom

Hi Magan - the bottle is approximately 255mm tall and approximately 250mm in circumference around the base. I have a standard size bottle cage so I can't help you there. The middle point of the "skinny bit" is approximately 142mm from the bottom of the bottle.

It's 25cm tall from bottom to top including closed pulling spout. The neck width decreases from 18cm up with a handhold reduced width from 12cm to 15.5cm from bottom.

Yes. I bought the Lifeline Alloy Bottle Cage together with the SIS 800ml bottle assuming they would match ok and thankfully it's a good tight fit.

I bought the plastic lifeline cages and whilst the bottles won't pull "straight" out of the cage fitted to the down tube it does pull out forwards OK.

I have used them in the dishwasher and it works ok however it does eventually take off the markings on the bottle. But normal washing also did this to my previous bottles

answer 7
I haven't tried to wash mine in the dishwasher as only takes a moment in the sink. But I'm pretty certain the ink / printing on the outside would come off in a dishwasher and then you wouldn't have the handy measuring guage for your SIS products.

I put mine through the dishwasher and it seems okay. The printing on the outside gets far more wear in the bottle cages.
