Questions & Answers for Co-Pilot Limo Child Seat
Question
Is there a rack for this seat which fits a bike with disc brakes?
I have one of these seats, and very good it is too :-) However my girlfriend has just got a new bike with disc brakes. Is there a rack we can get for her bike which will fit this seat?

I've fitted the Blackburn rack to my MTB which has disc brakes. I had to bend the rack arm out very slightly to get a good fit, but it does work okay.

Question
Which rack will it fit?
I know that this seat comes with a blackburn rear rack. However my bike has already got a rack on it that has mounts for a rear light and mudguards, so I don't really want to swap it. does any one know if it will fit any rack or just the blackburn? many thanks

Only the Blackburn EX1.
I recently had to replace the rack for my child seat (the old one was on a bike that got stolen), and I looked a photos of other Blackburn racks and concluded that only the EX1 would fit. The reason is the way that the seat is specially shaped to fit the rack. The two slot together very neatly, but that means that the rack must be exactly right.
The only choice of rack you get is the colour. :-)

About 6 inches I'd say from the upright position. Enough to allow them to nod off fairly comfortably.

Minimal recline feature which is mentioned in the customer reviews.

Yes. The Blackburn rack is available to buy separately.
Too late for you, but you shouldn't have your child in a seat if he or she is struggling to keep their own head up, especially if you then put a lid on.
I would guess 9 months+ would be the first time for a seat like this.

As a father I wouldn't recommend using a child seat for your child untill they can comfortably support their own head during activity. The bike will move around a lot and in case of a fall you need to be sure that the child can support its head without hurting its neck. 4 months seems young to me.

Question
rack fitting
Hi, my bike has mudguard eyes, but not rack mounts on the seat stay. Does the rack come with brackets to fit to bikes that do not have rack mounts- or do these have to be purchased seperately?
What is the minimum age/weight of the child for this seat?

To be honest the minimum is when they fit it well, some babies are big, others small. This carrier is recommended for babies up to 40lbs.

Sorry we do not stock Specialized bikes so I am unable to advise, my advice would be to show your bike to your local bike shop and ask them.

The Focus Corrente 2009 does not have mounts on the frame for fitting a rack. You would be better off with a child seat like the Hamax Siesta which does not require a rack to fit. You can find it here: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Hamax_Siesta_Child_Seat/5360023411/

Yes it will but you may need to change your existing rack for the one supplied with the child seat.
